There are two options:

  1. CRA MyAccount
    1. Create a CRA myaccount (you can follow this video for instructions to how to create myaccount on CRA website)

    2. Website for myaccount registration: (https://apps2.ams-sga.cra-arc.gc.ca/gol-ged/awsc/amss/enrol/start?prog=pzaz) OR if you want to register through your bank (https://services.securekeyconcierge.com/cbs/nav/home-accueil-eng)
    3. Website for myaccount login: (https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/e-services/e-services-individuals/account-individuals.html)
    4. If you have signed up for direct deposit or linked your MyAccount directly with your financial institution then you can receive the funds in 3 business days. However, if you have not signed up for direct deposit then it can take up to 10 business days for a cheque to arrive in the mail.

  2. Over the phone

    Automated phone line +1-800-959-2019.

    Although the application process starts on April 6, 2020 **depending on your birth month** you can create a CRA MyAccount beforehand and have it linked with your financial institution prior to April 6th to save time.

    These benefits do not end on April 6th, in fact the application starts on April 6th.

    To ensure the system is not overloaded, CRA has provided specific days for applications based on birth month.

    Please follow the chart below:

    If you were born in the month of Apply for CERB on Your best day to apply
    January, February or March Mondays April 6
    April, May, or June Tuesdays April 7
    July, August, or September Wednesdays April 8
    October, November, or December Thursdays April 9
    Any month Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays

    The application for online and over the phone is open from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. every day.

    The application consists of 5 steps

    1. Log onto CRA MyAccount
    2. Click on the COVID-19: Canada Emergency Response Benefit in the alert banner
    3. Select the period you want to apply for
    4. Declare that you qualify for the benefit
    5. Confirm that CRA has the correct payment information
